Vents therapy
What is it
It is a type of natural treatment in which cups are used to improve blood circulation in a part of the body. To do this, the suction cups create a vacuum effect, which sucks the skin, resulting in an increase in the diameter of the blood vessels in the exact location. As a result, there is greater oxygenation of these tissues, allowing the release of toxins from the blood and muscles more easily.

Indications
This treatment is often used to treat cellulite, as increased blood circulation can reduce the appearance of orange peel. Furthermore, cupping therapy is also widely used as a natural way to combat muscle pain, as the difference in pressure caused by the vacuum moves the skin away from the muscle and increases the amount of blood, having a relaxing action.
Benefits
Relieves muscle pain, improves circulation and reduces tension through suction with cups.
Contraindications
Although it is relatively safe, cupping treatment has some contraindications and, therefore, should not be applied to people who have:
Thrombosis, thrombophlebitis or bleeding disorders;
Varicose veins;
Wounds;
Fever;
Fracture in the area to be treated.
Furthermore, cupping treatment should also be avoided during pregnancy, especially if there is no medical supervision.
Some situations that are not absolute contraindications but that require more attention when using this type of treatment are: people with uncontrolled high blood pressure, immediately after exercising and applying it to areas that do not have a good muscle layer, with more prominent bone ends.
How is done
The treatment can be carried out with the person lying on a stretcher where 1, 2 or several suction cups are placed on the area to be treated. Cups can be placed just over a back contracture or can slide across all back muscles.
As cupping therapy can promote sagging, this treatment should not be done exclusively to eliminate cellulite nodules, but should be used in a protocol that involves the use of firming creams and devices such as radiofrequency, for example.
If cupping therapy is performed during the menstrual period, after treatment, the woman's menstruation may be heavier than usual, purple marks may appear in the treated areas and the urine may be a little darker than usual.
Peridity
The duration varies between 5 and 15 minutes and isolated sessions can be carried out to combat back pain, or up to 8 sessions carried out once a week for 8 consecutive weeks.
When the suction cup is placed with a lot of pressure or left in place for a long time, blood bubbles may appear in the area and if this happens, the treatment must be stopped immediately.
Care
Cupping therapy uses suction cups applied to the skin to stimulate blood circulation, release muscle tension and help eliminate toxins. It is common for circular marks to appear on the skin, which indicate the therapeutic action and tend to disappear naturally in a few days. Post-session care is essential to avoid irritation and enhance the beneficial effects of the treatment.
Avoid direct sun exposure for at least 7 days, as the skin will be sensitive and prone to hyperpigmentation in the marked areas. If you must go out, wear clothing that covers the area and apply physical sunscreen.
Do not apply deodorants, lotions with alcohol, perfumes or acids in the first 24 hours, especially if the application was made in areas such as the back, arms or chest. These products can cause burning, irritation or stains.
Use soothing or moisturizing lotions recommended by the professional, especially with ingredients such as aloe vera, calendula or chamomile, to soothe the skin.
Avoid hot baths and exfoliation in the treated area for 48 hours, so as not to aggravate skin sensitivity.
Keep yourself well hydrated and eat a light diet, as your body will be releasing toxins.
Avoid intense physical activity on the day of the session, and rest instead so that your body can better assimilate the effects of the treatment.
