Waxing

What is it?

Depilation is a procedure carried out since the time of ancient Egypt, when people used materials such as clay, sandalwood extract and beeswax to remove hair. Over time, depilation ceased to be just an aesthetic issue and started to have a hygienic nature.

The technique most adopted by people who want to get rid of hair is waxing with warm wax. Unlike the blade, wax is able to remove the strands by the root – this prolongs the effect of smooth and soft skin.

How long does warm waxing last?

A waxing session varies according to the amount of hair the person has and the area that will be waxed. Legs and bikini line require more time to remove hair due to the extension of the area, the amount of hair and the necessary care.

After waxing, the person is usually free of hair for 20 days. This time varies from one individual to another. Once the body gets used to this technique, the hair takes longer and longer to grow.

How long should I wait before shaving again?

The ideal is to wait between 15 and 30 days for the next session. Before that, the hairs have not yet reached the ideal size and the result may not be satisfactory, as the wax will hardly be able to remove the short hairs.

Frequent contact of wax with the skin can cause irritation, injuries and burns. So it’s good to keep an eye out for intervals and be careful with wax temperature before waxing!
